Noise Condition
I live near a pumping station around 200 feet away and have had numerous problems with noise problems from the Loud 15 facility. there is only a few trees separating me from this facility and have called and complained many times about the noise problems at night trying to sleep. they say that the emergency hotline is for those who have problems with any facility and they keep it open 24 hours a day.
so, after complaining many times in the past, I was going to try and block it out as best as I could, since my bedroom is on the side of the house next to the facility. well, after about an hour and a half of sitting in bed with the thumping noise going through my ears I decide I have had enough and call and complain. the lady on the other end sounds as if she is not to thrilled to be there and takes down my name and telephone number. so, around 1:00 I actually get to sleep, but later around 2:30 I wake up to use the restroom and then try to go back to sleep after that, and I swear that the station was louder than before. so, after another 45 minutes I call up again, rather upset. I told the lady that it sounds worse and if she would be so happy (I will admit I sounded upset on the phone
too) if she would mind having someone take care of it please.
as I went back to bed and was just about ready to get back to sleep I received a phone call from one the the workers there at the sight, and he tells me that he has been out to the sight twice already and there is nothing wrong with the amount of noise and that there must be something wrong with my hearing and that I am the one who has the problem. well, not being the argumentative type, and being around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning (I cant remember looking) I just said fine, got off the phone, grabbed my pillows and some covers and slept on the couch for the remaining morning.
the next day I decide to call one of the district managers in traverse city and explain what happened (of course I only get to leave a message because he never answers his phone). since then it has been rather silent except for the last few nights (first week of February till now the 11th). I also used to work for the soil conservation and am disgusted with the land and environmental destruction caused by this company.signed, Inigma
